Trigg County 2 Hopkins County Central 1

Trigg County got their fourth straight win of the season with a 16-25, 25-14, 25-14 win at Hopkins County Central Thursday night.

"Molly Thompson, Kalesha Williams, and Kelly Bradshaw passed well for us," said Lady Wildcat head coach Rick Erickson, "and Kalesha Williams, Kelly Bradshaw and Casey Banister served well in the match."

Trigg County improves to 7-8 with the win and will play in the Caldwell County SlamFest Saturday in Princeton where they will play at least four games.

Hopkins Central won the JV game 21-13, 15-21, 21-19.

Trigg County 2 Hopkinsville 0

After going 2-3 at the West Kentucky Smackdown Saturday, Trigg County won their third straight game Monday night with a 25-18, 25-16 win at Hopkinsville in a late scheduled game.

Trigg County is now 6-8 on the season and the three-game winning streak is their longest since a four-game winning streak in 2005.

Over the weekend, Trigg County won the Bronze Division consolation bracket of the West Kentucky Smackdown, held at Hopkinsville and Christian County.

Trigg opened with a 12-21, 23-21, 15-17 loss to McLean County, followed by a 21-8, 21-12 loss to Whitesville Trinity.

Trigg lost to Todd County Central 16-21, 21-16, 12-15 in the cross-over game that dropped them to the Bronze Division consolation bracket.

There, they beat Clarksville Northwest 25-20, 25-20 and downed Russellville 25-17, 24-26, 25-10 to finish the tournament with two wins.

Whitesville Trinity beat Caldwell County in three games to win the 12-team event.

Volleyball spaghetti dinner is Friday

The Trigg County Volleyball team is having a Spaghetti Dinner Friday from 4:30-7:30 pm at the school cafeteria. 

Tickets can be purchased from any of the volleyball players for five dollars or contact Athletic Director Doug Gloyd at the high school for more information on the tickets, which will be sold through Wednesday.

West Kentucky Smackdown Saturday in Hopkinsville

The West Kentucky Smackdown volleyball tournament will be held Saturday in Hopkinsville at four different venues.

Murray 2 Trigg County 0

Trigg County dropped their third straight game and third straight at home with a 25-22, 25-17 setback to Murray Thursday at Wildcat Gym.

The Lady Wildcats (3-5) will compete in the West Kentucky Smackdown tournament Saturday in Hopkinsville.  I'll have matchups later Friday on the blog.

Caldwell County 2 Trigg County 0

It was close, but close doesn't count in district wins as Caldwell County edged Trigg County 25-23, 25-18 Thursday night at Wildcat Gym.

"We led late in both games.  The first game 19-18 and the second game 17-14.  However, we were unable to make that play that would keep the lead for us," Lady Wildcat head coach Rick Erickson said.  "It seemed that every break went their way.  They won the majority of the long rallies, and that is a heartbreaker for any team.  Caldwell did a GREAT job of making the plays when they needed them tonight."

The loss dropped Trigg County to 3-4 overall and 1-2 in district play.  Caldwell County improved to 6-1 overall and 3-0 in the district.

"We made several good plays throughout the night.  We played some of the best volleyball we've played all year," said Erickson, who wasn't thrilled with the fan turnout, especially on a night when students could have entered for a dollar.

"It's a shame we didn't have more fans there to support the girls on a night when they played so well.  It seems that every year, we have had less and less fans attend."

Caldwell County also won the JV game 21-8, 21-4 and won the freshmen game 21-6, 21-6.

Trigg County will host Murray Thursday at Wildcat Gym -- one of only three home games the Lady Wildcats have left this season.

Marshall County 2 Trigg County 0

Trigg County fell to 3-3 on the season with a 25-10, 25-14 loss at Marshall County Thursday night.  The 24 total points was their second lowest output of the season.

Kalesha Williams had 3 blocks, 1 kill and 1 ace.  Molly Thompson had 1 kill, 1 block and 1 ace. Casey Banister had 1 assist, and Kassy Davis had 1 block.

"Marshall County is a good team that is well coached.  They move to the ball well and play great defense.  They kept us from getting any kind of offense going," Lady Wildcat head coach Rick Erickson said.

Marshall County won the JV game 21-5, 21-8 as Stephanie Graves had 3 kills and 1 ace, Courtney Oliver had 3 assists, T'ana Dixon had 1 kill and 1 block, and Kassy Davis had 1 kill.

The Trigg freshmen lost 4-21, 2-21 as Cassey Jessup had 1 ace.

Marshall County improves to 11-1 on the season with their sixth straight win.

Trigg County will host Caldwell County in a key district game Thursday at Wildcat Gym.

Trigg County 2 Fort Campbell 0

Trigg County notched only their second-ever win over Fort Campbell on the volleyball court and first in six years as the Lady Wildcats came away with a 25-22, 25-9 win Thursday on post.

Kalesha Williams had 11 aces, 3 kills and 1 block, while Casey Banister had 10 assists one ace. 

Molly Thompson had 3 kills and one block; Keisha Stewart had 3 kills and one block; Kelly Bradshaw had 1 kill and 1 ace; and Kassy Davis had 3 aces. 

Williams served the last 12 points of the second game and had 18 service points on the night as the Lady Wildcats defeated the defending region runner-up.

"Tonight the girls pulled together and played as a team.  There was a LOT of enthusiasm, and they had fun," said Lady Wildcat head coach Rick Erickson.  "If they play every game like this, we can have a very successful season.  Everyone enjoyed themselves, whether they were on the floor playing, on the bench cheering or in the stands.  This is what we have been looking for out of this team."

Trigg County is now 3-2 overall and will play at Marshall County Tuesday in a freshman/JV/varsity tripleheader.

Trigg County lost the JV game 10-21, 18-21.

Trigg County hosting JV SlamFest Saturday

Trigg County will be playing host to the JV SlamFest Tournament Saturday morning, utilizing both Wildcat Gym and the middle school gym.

Trigg County is in a pool with Christian County and Caldwell County's freshmen team.  The other pool consists of Caldwell County, Christian Fellowship, and Fort Campbell.

Trigg County fell to 1-1 in district play with a lethargic 25-6, 25-16 loss to Crittenden County Tuesday night in Cadiz.

"Crittenden served the ball very well.  We started off slow, then played with our heads down the majority of the night.  It's hard to beat any team when playing like that, especially the returning district champs," said Lady Wildcat head coach Rick Erickson.

Keisha Stewart had 2 kills; Casey Banister had 3 assists; Molly Thompson had 2 blocks; and Kelly Bradshaw had 2 kills and an ace.

Crittenden also won the JV game 10-21, 21-17, 19-21.

Courtney Oliver had 6 aces and 4 assists; Morgan Parker had 2 aces and 1 block; and Stephanie Graves had 2 aces and 1 kill.

Trigg County returns to action Thursday night at Fort Campbell.  The JV play at 6pm, and the varsity at 7:15pm.  If you're going to the game, get your pass at Gate #4.  You will need proof of insurance and a driver's license.  All passengers will  need a form of Identification.  You enter the post through Gate #1.

Trigg County beat Livingston Central 25-16, 25-17 Thursday night to get their first district win of the year.  The game was played in the middle school gym because the AC is Wildcat Gym isn't working.

Molly Thompson served eight straight points in the first game and seven straight points in the second game.  She finished with three kills and seven aces for the match.

Kelly Bradshaw had 2 kills and 5 aces.  Casey Banister had 5 assists, 1 ace and 1 kill; Keisha Stewart had 2 kills, 3 aces and 1 block; Samantha Harper had 5 assists; Morgan Parker had 1 kill; and Kassy Davis had 1 kill. 

Trigg County is now 2-1 on the season and 1-0 in district play,  They will host the defending district champion Crittenden County Tuesday night in the middle school gym.

In the JV game, Trigg won 21-12, 21-13.

Trigg returns to volleyball court tonight

Trigg County returns to volleyball action tonight when they host Livingston Central in the middle school gym.  The JV game starts at 6pm, with the varsity to follow at 7pm.

The Lady Wildcats (1-1) are coming off a 25-22, 25-18 loss at Henderson County Tuesday.

Tonight's game is the first district game of the season for both teams.

Trigg/Hoptown volleyball game cancelled

Trigg County's Thursday volleyball game with Hopkinsville was postponed because of the extreme heat.  A makeup date will be announced later.

The Lady Wildcats (1-0) return to action Tuesday at Henderson County in the first-ever regular season meeting between the schools.

Trigg County wins season opener

Trigg County opened the 2007 volleyball season with a 25-20, 25-14 win over Todd County Central Tuesday at Wildcat Gym.

Trigg started out hot and led 16-6 in the first game.  However, Todd Co. pulled within 20-18 before Trigg finished the game 25-20.

In the second game, Trigg trailed 1-4 before a sideout and Molly Thompson serving 6 straight points.  Casey Banister began serving with the score 16-12 and served 8 straight points as Trigg won 25-14.

Keisha Stewart had 6 kills, 2 blocks and 2 aces.

Molly Thompson had 3 kills, 1 block and 3 aces.

Kalesha Williams had 3 kills, 1 block and 1 ace.

Casey Banister had 9 aces and 4 assists.

Samantha Harper had 2 aces and 5 assists.

Kassy Davis had 3 blocks.

Morgan Parker had 2 blocks.

2007 Trigg County volleyball preview

Trigg County set records last year, but not the kind head coach Rick Erickson was looking for.

The Lady Wildcats struggled to an 8-28 record and failed to successfully defend their district title, losing in the first round.  The 28 losses set a new school record.

However, Erickson returns four starters from last year's team and a different attitude.

"The determination and attitude of this team is high after a disappointing 2006 season," Erickson said.  "We have some unfinished business after last year.  It was the first time since 2002 that we haven't played in the regional tournament, and that was a major disappointment for the girls."

All-District performers Molly Thompson and Casey Banister are two of the starters returning.  Thompson, a junior, led the team in aces last year with 66 and should see most of her court time at outside hitter and middle.

Banister, a junior, had 264 assists last year and returns at setter.

Thompson and Banister will be joined by another fourth-year starter, senior Kalesha Williams, who led Trigg with 82 blocks and 109 kills last year.

Sophomore Keisha Stewart returns at middle and outside hitter, and Junior Kassy Davis will play right side and libero this year.

Trigg County will also benefit from the addition of junior Kelly Bradshaw, who transferred from Hopkinsville after Christmas.  She will play outside hitter and right side hitter.

Erickson is also expecting eighth grader Samantha Harper, senior Mariah Calhoun, senior Alyssa Weber, and freshman Morgan Parker to be key contributors this season.

"Other players are contributing and could move up to playing varsity at different points of the season.  Our practices this year are some of the best we have had in several years," Erickson said.

Trigg County will benefit from the first half of the schedule which sees them play nine of ten games at home in mid-August to early September.  But they will only play two home games after Sept. 8.

"Our schedule isn't as strong as last year's but still very tough.  It's one of the top four schedules in the region as far as difficulty, and we play Henderson County (Aug. 14) in the regular season for the first time," said Erickson, who called Caldwell County the favorite to win the district.

"Our first goal is to make it to the district championship and see how things go from there.  They want to be in the championship with a chance to win it and then play in the regional tournament after that."

Erickson will be assisted by Mike Medieros, Ashley Shaw, and Jen Chastain.

The Lady Wildcats open their season tonight against Todd County Central at Wildcat Gym at 6pm.

Mindy Hargrove named Hopkinsville volleyball coach

Mindy Hargrove, who at one time served as summer recreation director at the Trigg County Recreation Complex, has been named the new head volleyball coach at Hopkinsville.

Hargrove's husband and Trigg County native Doug Hargrove will be an assistant coach for the Lady Tigers, who struggled to a 1-20 record.

She said tryouts will be held tonight at 7pm at Tiger Gym.  Hoptown is scheduled to open the season Aug. 7 at Russellville.

CourtTime Volleyball Camp set for July 9-10

Monday is the deadline to register for the CourtTime Volleyball summer skills camp that will be held July 9-10 at Christian County Middle School.

Austin Peay State University Volleyball head coach Corey Carlin will be running the camp, which will feature a beginners camp and an advanced camp.

The cost to register for the camp is $60.

Cayla Hampton receives scholarship with Mid-Continent University

Cayla Hampton realized in the seventh grade that if she outworked everyone, she would have a chance at playing volleyball past high school.  On Wednesday, she took the first step as she signed a scholarship contract to attend Mid-Continent University in Mayfield.  Hampton will receive a two-thirds athletic scholarship to attend MCU.

Hampton was joined by her family, coaches, and former Lady Wildcat teammates at the ceremony held in the high school's little theater.

She said she visited MCU and liked the small campus, which suits her fine coming from a small town.

"I really liked the campus, and it seemed like everyone knew everyone," said Hampton, who expects to enter the science field in college. 

Hampton could make an immediate impact at Mid-Continent, which is located in Mayfield.  The Cougars were just 3-20 last year, which was the school's fourth since beginning the program in 2003.  MC lost four of their 11 players on the 2006 roster to graduation.

"Cayla had the reputation of being one of the premier hitters in the region, and I think we're lucky to sign her," said MCU head coach Jon Cowan, who will enter his third season as Lady Cougar head coach.

Cowan said he expects two to three starting positions to be up for grabs, with Hampton right in the mix to battle for one of them.

Hampton will be the first TCHS volleyball player in the seven-year history of the program to play volleyball at college.

Lady Wildcat head coach Rick Erickson called Wednesday's signing "phenomenal."

"This has been a goal of the program for ages," he said.  "This can put Trigg County on the volleyball map, and I think Cayla will be a good fit there.  Maybe this will start a partnership between Trigg County and Mid-Continent."

Hampton missed most of her senior season after tearing her ACL, MCL, and meniscus last summer.  She said she has rehabbed her injury and is ready to get back into shape and get some court time in this summer.

She said she is hoping to be an outside hitter at MCU.

Mid-Continent University is a NAIA-Division I school that competes in the Trans-South Conference.

Cayla Hampton to sign with Mid-Continent College

Cayla Hampton will make school history this week when she becomes the first TCHS volleyball player to sign to play volleyball in college.

Hampton will sign to play at Mid-Continent University Wednesday afternoon at a 2pm ceremony at the high school.

Hampton could make an immediate impact at Mid-Continent, which is located in Mayfield.  The Cougars were just 3-20 last year, which was the school's fourth since beginning the program in 2003.  MC lost four of their 11 players on the 2006 roster to graduation.

Hampton was an all-district and all-region performer at Trigg County during her junior season but suffered a knee injury over the summer that caused her to miss almost all of the 2006 season.

She would become the first TCHS volleyball player to play in college in the seven-year history of the Trigg County program.

CourtTime Volleyball tryouts are Dec. 17

Any girl in 5th-12th grade that is interested in playing in "CourtTime Volleyball" needs to contact Rick Erickson at [email protected] for information. 

Practices and games will be played in Hopkinsville.  There will be 3-4 different levels of play -- instructional (5th-6th), developmental (7th-8th) and 1-2 high school leagues. 

This is an excellent experience for players just learning the game or trying to improve their skills.  Tryouts for the high school league are Sunday December 17th.

"The season, while not as productive in wins, has provided us with a lot of valuable experience.  For the first time in the history of Trigg Volleyball, three girls had over 85 kills.  Two of those three will be returning, Kalesha Williams (jr.) and Molly Thompson (soph.).  We have two of the top 10 setters in the region.  Casey Banister is a sophomore and has three years of starting experience at setter," said head coach Rick Erickson.

Crittenden wins district volleyball title

Crittenden County won their first-ever district volleyball title with a 25-21, 28-26 win over Caldwell County Tuesday night in the Seventh District title game in Princeton.

Congratulations to Trigg County's Casey Banister and Molly Thompson who made the all-district team.

Other members of the all-district team are Lonna Starnes, Kiley Amburgy, Darah Easley, and Tiffany Hearell of Crittenden County; Mandy Gray, Elizabeth Story, and Grace Story of Caldwell County; and Samantha Heneisen and Jessica Wingham of Livingston Central.

Trigg County's volleyball season came to an end Monday in a straight set loss to Caldwell County in the semifinals of the Seventh District Tournament in Princeton.

Caldwell County won both games by identical 25-14 scores to advance to the championship game.  Trigg County's season ends with a record of 8-28, setting school records for both games played (36) and losses (28) in a season.

Casey Banister had 2 kills and 8 assists.

Molly Thompson had 2 kills.

Kalesha Williams had 3 kills and 1 block.

Stacy Schoneman had 2 kills and 1 assist.

Cayla Hampton had 1 kill, 1 block and 1 ace.

Cally Felton had 1 kill and 2 blocks.

Kassy Davis had 1 assist.

Samantha Harper had 1 assist.

Caldwell County (21-10) will advance to Tuesday's championship game where they will play Crittenden County (25-3), who beat Livingston Central 25-20, 25-17.

The two teams split their two regular season games, with each team winning on their home floor.  Tonight's game time is set for 7pm at the Butler Gym.

It's been a year of ups and downs for the Trigg County volleyball, with the downs outnumbering the ups.

However, the Lady Wildcats enter today's Seventh District Tournament as the defending champions.  Trigg County will play Caldwell County tonight at 7:30 looking to advance to the district title game for a third straight year.

Trigg is coming off a straight set win over Hopkins Central Thursday 25-16, 26-24 that they hope can propel them past the Lady Tigers.

"Molly Thompson is passing and hitting very well right now.  Casey Banister is setting and serving well, and Cally Felton is doing a good job of blocking since being moved to middle.  Cayla Hampton's presence on the team is helping us to be a more complete team," said Trigg coach Rick Erickson.  "If we play as a team, we can compete with anyone in the region.  It's just a matter of whether or not we will do that.  We have had a lot of ups and downs this year.  I hope we play with a sense of urgency this week."

Trigg and Caldwell split their regular season games, with Caldwell winning 25-22, 25-13 Aug. 31 in Princeton and Trigg winning on their home floor 25-23, 12-25, 25-16 Sept. 21.

Erickson feels the tournament is wide-open, despite Crittenden County coming in as the favorite.

"This district tournament is the most balanced one since I have been at Trigg.  Anyone can win this tournament.  Crittenden is playing really well right now.  They are the number one seed and the combination of those two make them very tough.  Caldwell is a better draw for us because we have split with them this year.  It will be a very interesting district tournament.  It will come down to who is ready to play," he said.

Trigg struggles at Murfreesboro tourney

Trigg County went 0-6 at the Murfreesboro Blackman Tourmament over the weekend in Tennessee.

"We played very well over the weekend.  The competition was tough and we were able to do several positive things.  We just have to continue working hard and we should be ready for the post season," Lady Wildcat head coach Rick Erickson said.  "Molly Thompson is hitting much better than she has been, Cally Felton and Kalesha Williams are blocking well, also.  If we can continue to pass well and serve well, we can still accomplish some great things this year."

Trigg County is now 7-26 on the season and plays at Christian County Tuesday.

Fort Campbell improved to 15-3 on the season, while Trigg County fell to 7-20 on the season.  The Lady Wildcats were 0-7 over the weekend at the Lavergne (Tenn.) Tournament of Champions.

This weekend, Trigg will compete in the Murfreesboro (Tenn.) Blackman Tournament.

Big night of district games

Tonight is a big night for a pair of Lady Wildcat teams still trying to make noise in district play.

The Lady Wildcat volleyball team (6-12) host Caldwell County (16-6) tonight at Wildcat Gym in what could be a first round preview in the district tournament.

Caldwell beat Trigg 25-22, 25-13 Aug. 31 in Princeton.

Tonight is black and white night at Wildcat Gym -- all fans wearing black and white will be admitted for a buck.  The JV game begins at 6pm, with the varsity to follow around 7:15.

Meanwhile, the Lady Wildcat soccer team will host Lyon County tonight at the Complex.

Trigg County (3-4-2) is 1-1 in district play, but have never beaten the Lady Lyons, who come into tonight's game with a 9-4 record but have dropped three of their last five.

The JV game begins at 6pm, with the varsity game to follow at 7:30.

One team not concerned with district play is the Wildcat soccer team, who travel to Russellville for a 6pm contest.  The JV game will follow.  Trigg County enters the game with a 1-5-1 record, while Russellville is 0-9-1.

Last week's game with Russellville that was postponed due to bad weather has been rescheduled for Saturday, Oct. 7 at the Complex.  The JV will play at 10am, while the varsity will follow at 11:30.

Also in action today, the Wildcat cross country team will host Dawson Springs this afternoon at the Lake Barkley Airport course, while the golf team will play University Heights in a match at the Links at Novadell in Hopkinsville.

Trigg County beat Livingston Central in straight sets 25-23, 26-24 Tuesday in Smithland.

Molly Thompson had 7 kills and 2 blocks.

"Trailing 18-24 in game two, we got a side out.  Casey Banister served tough and the rest of the team pulled behind her and made some great passes, blocks and kills.  We ended up rattling off eight straight points. We played like a team.  I am very impressed with how we pulled together.  If we can continue to do that for a whole game, we will be dangerous," head coach Rick Erickson said."

In the JV game, Trigg won 2-1.  15-21, 21-18, 21-17.

After a 2-2 weekend, Trigg County has lost two straight games on the volleyball court with the lastest coming Tuesday night in Murray.

Trigg County lost to Murray 21-25, 22-25.

Trigg 2-2 at SlamFest

Trigg County finished in third place in the Silver Medal Round of the Trigg County SlamFest Saturday and finished the day with a 2-2 record.

Trigg County started pool play by beating Russellville (4-15) 25-19, 25-10 before falling to McLean County (10-3) 14-25, 14-25. 

Trigg then lost to Christian County (4-4) 17-25, 21-25.  Trigg then ended their day by defeating Montgomery Central, Tenn. 25-17, 17-25, 25-17.

Casey Bansiter had 17 assists, 8 aces and 6 kills.

Molly Thompson had 20 aces, 12 blocks and 6 kills.

Kalesha Williams had 16 kills, 11 aces, 10 blocks and 2 assists.

Samantha Harper had 11 assists.

"We experimented with three different line-ups in the four games we played.  I feel we have found one or two that will help our team to compete and play well the remainder of the year," said Lady Wildcat head coach Rick Erickson.

Trigg is now 5-10 on the season and will play at Crittenden County Monday in a key district matchup that will have major implications on seeding for the district tournament.

Caldwell County 25-25 Trigg County 22-13

Trigg County dropped a straight sets match to district rival Caldwell County Thursday night in volleyball action in Princeton.  Caldwell won 25-22, 25-13.

Casey Banister had 8 assists.

Molly Thompson had 2 kills and 3 blocks.

The JV lost in straight sets 21-11, 21-12 and the Trigg freshman lost 21-11, 21-4.

Historic win

Trigg County got their first win over Hopkinsville in the seven-year history of their volleyball program Tuesday night, knocking off the Lady Tigers 25-23, 25-14.

Stacy Schoneman had 5 kills and 5 aces, and in the second game she served 9 straight points, including four aces.

Kalesha Williams had 5 kills and 1 block.

Casey Banister had 11 assists and 2 aces.

Molly Thompson had 1 kill, 3 blocks and 4 aces (last 2 points of 2nd game were aces).

Keisha Stewart had 3 kills, 1 block and 3 aces.

Courtney Oliver and Samantha Harper gained their first varsity aces. 

The varsity record is now 3-6, and the Lady Wildcats return to action Thursday at defending region champion Madisonville.

Trigg 1-4 at Apollo Slamdown

Trigg County went 1-4 at the 24-team Apollo Summer Slamdown over the weekend in Owensboro.

In the first match Friday, Trigg lost to defending Third Region champ and eventual tournament champion Owensboro Catholic (6-0) 25-19, 25-11.  Stacy Schoneman had 3 kills and 1 block.  Casey Banister had 6 assists.  Keisha Stewart had 2 blocks, 1 kill and 1 ace.  Molly Thompson had 1 kill and 1 block.  Morgan Parker had 1 block.  Kalesha Williams had 1 kill.

In the second match, Trigg beat Harrison County (2-4) 25-20, 16-25, 25-24.  Kalesha Williams had 4 kills, and 2 blocks.  Molly Thompson had 3 kills, 2 aces and 1 block.  Casey Banister had 10 assists and 1 ace.  Stacy Schoneman had 3 aces and 1 kill.   Keisha Stewart had 2 killsand 3 aces.  Cally Felton had 2 aces.  Mariah Calhoun had 1 ace.

On Saturday, In the first match, Trigg lost to defending Fifth Region champion Green County (5-3) 25-13, 25-12.  Kalesha Williams had 2 kills.  Molly Thompson had 1 kill, 1 assist and 1 block.  Casey Banister had 1 kill, 1 ace and 3 assists.  Stacy Schoneman had 1 kill.  Keisha Stewart had 1 kill and 3 blocks.

In the second match, Trigg lost to Marshall County (4-5) 25-18, 25-7.  Casey Banister had 3 kills, 1 ace and 6 assists.  Molly Thompson had 1 kill and 2 aces.  Kalesha Williams had 3 kills, 1 assist and 1 block.  Keisha Stewart had 3 kills, 1 ace, 1 assist and 1 block.  Stacy Schoneman had 2 kills and 1 ace.

In the thrid match, Trigg lost to Lone Oak (3-7) 25-16, 25-11.  Stacy Schoneman had 5 kills and 2 aces.  Kalesha Williams had 2 kills and 1 block.  Molly Thompson had 2 aces and 3 blocks.  Casey Banister had 8 assists.  Keisha Stewart had 1 kill and 2 aces.

Lady Wildcats fall to Crittenden County

Crittenden County beat Trigg County 21-25, 25-20, 26-24 Thursday night at Wildcat Gym.  It was the first time ever that Crittenden has beaten Trigg in volleyball.

Trigg County lost in straight sets to defending First Region champion Christian Fellowship 25-14, 25-15 Tuesday night at Wildcat Gym.

Trigg County fell to 1-1 with the loss and will host Crittenden County Thursday night at Wildcat Gym. 

Thursday's home game is "Black and White Night".  All fans wearing "black and white" will get in for $1.  Everyone come out and support the Wildcat volleyball team in this DISTRICT MATCH.

Volleyball opens with win

Trigg County opened defense of their Seventh District volleyball title with a three-set win Aug. 10 at Wildcat Gym.  Trigg beat Livingston Central 19-25, 25-17, 25-18.

Kalesha Williams had 11 kills and 3 aces.

Casey Banister had 11 assists, 3 aces and 1 kill.

Molly Thompson had 6 aces and 2 kills.

Stacy Schoneman had 3 kills and 2 aces.

The Wildcat JV team lost 13-21, 18-21.
