Trigg County used a 20-0 first half run to take control and beat Hopkins County Central 83-43 Monday night at Wildcat Gym. It was Trigg's first win over Hopkins Central in three career meetings.
Brooke Kearney had a career-high 31 points, including a school record eight 3-pointers. Her seventh 3-pointer of the night gave her 177 for her career, which is also a new school record.
Senior Morgan Parker added 15 points and 12 rebounds, and eighth grader LeeLee Grubs added 15 points.
Trigg didn't shoot particularly well from the field (27-of-80) but outrebounded Hopkins Cenral 63-38.
Taylor Howerton led Hopkins Central (2-21) with 18 points.
The win gave Lady Wildcat head coach Amy Breckel her 50th win at TCHS.
Trigg County (7-16) returns to action tonight when they travel to Elkton to face Todd County Central. Trigg has lost 19 straight games to Todd County dating back to 1986.
