Hopkinsville girls' soccer player Payton Bucko has been named second team all-state in voting done by the state's soccer coaches.
Bucko was a senior defender for the Lady Tigers, who won their second straight region title last month. She will represent the West Team in a statewide all-star game Nov. 13 at Sacred Heart Academy in Louisville.
Hoptown's Bennett Peck, the school's all-time leading scorer, was named all-state honorable mention.
Also named to the all-state team were Maragret Thomas of Marshall County (first team), Whitney Young of Greenwood (second team), and Heath's Elizabeth McSparin, Marshall County's Tory Fehrenbacher, and Murray's Jaclyn Patterson (honorable mention).
Meanwhile, Hopkinsville's Chance Joyce was named boys' soccer all-state honorable mention based on voting by the state's coaches. He will play in the East-West All-Star game Nov. 14 at Kentucky Country Day High School in Louisville.
It's the first time since 2006 that Hopkinsville has had a player selected all-state.
Chase Caldwell of Heath was named First Team All-State, while Zach Yonts of Madisonville and Jason Straub of Heath were named honorable mention.
