Ole Miss has a new mascot and they aren't the Mathematicians

Ole Miss has a new mascot to replace the controversial Rebel colonel that was popular for decades.  The Black Bear will be the new Ole Miss mascot roaming the sidelines of football and basketball games.  Ole Miss will still be known as the Rebels.

The new black bear mascot was chosen by the Ole Miss student body after a vote.  And after looking at the breakdown of voting, it's obvious the Mathematicians were not an option.  Check out the second paragraph of the press release from the University of Mississippi web site.  The Back Bear got 62-percent of the vote.  The Land Shark drew 56-percent.  The Hotty Toddy got 42-percent of the vote. 

The 160-percent turnout is one that would make Chicago elections proud.
