Girls Second Region Soccer Tournament starts Tuesday in Hopkinsville

Hopkinsville is the favorite to win the Girls Second Region Soccer Tournament that begins Tuesday at the Stadium of Champions.

The Lady Tigers (16-3-1) will play Trigg County (8-11-1) in Tuesday's second game at 7:30pm. Hoptown beat Trigg 10-1 on Oct. 4 and holds a 4-0 record against the teams in the tourney.

In Tuesday's first game at 5:30pm, Caldwell County (17-2-1) plays University Heights (11-4-3). The Lady Tigers beat the Lady Blazers 3-1 on Sept. 30.

Hopkinsville, UHA, and Caldwell County have each won a region title in the past three years, and the three schools have combined to win the last five.

The championship game is set for Thursday night at 6pm at the Stadium of Champions.
