The Stadium of Champions is the site of the Boys Third District Soccer Tournament that begins tonight.
Todd County (6-10-3) plays University Heights (8-8-2) at 5:30pm. UHA won both regular season matchups -- 4-0 on Sept. 13 and 3-1 last Monday. The Rebels have won five of their last eight matches with a tie included, while UHA enters the postseason winners of six of their last eight games with a tie included.
The winner plays top seed Hopkinsville (13-1-6) in one semifinal. The other semifinal has Christian County (10-11) facing Fort Campbell (8-6-2). The championship game will be Thursday at 7:30pm.
Meanwhile, the Fourth District Tournament starts Tuesday night at Tradewater Park in Dawson Springs. Trigg County takes an 18-0-1 mark into the 6pm game with the host Panthers (4-13-1). Despite finishing the season unbeaten with a school record 18 wins, it wasn't good enough to be included in the state soccer rankings or even receive consideration.
Trigg won both regular season games by a combined score of 15-0.
The other semifinal has Caldwell County (6-11-2) playing Lyon County (9-6-3) at 8pm. Each team beat the other during the season by identical 4-3 scores.
The championship game will be Thursday at 8pm. The winner of the district tournament will host the region tournament next week.
