For the softball Lady Colonels, their 10-0 loss to Christian County was their third loss to their southern rivals in the past four seasons in the region title game. Henderson did win consecutive titles in 2005-06.
In boys soccer, Henderson County has won the last two region title after losing three straight games in the region championship, while the Lady Colonels have lost two straight appearances in the Third Region title game.
The most frustrating streak may be that of the Henderson County boys basketball team, which has lost seven straight games in the region title game dating back to their 1999 championship.
The one team able to close the deal is the Henderson County girls' basketball team, which has won six straight region titles.
Better to come close or better to not come close and not endure repeated runner-up finishes?
