Trigg County dropped a pair of games in the William Workman Classic in Clarksville Saturday. The Wildcats los to Clarksville Northwest 7-5 in the opener and was 10-runned by Brentwood Academy 10-0 in six innings in the nightcap.
Against Northwest, the Wildcats allowed five runs int he first three innings, and the Vikings scored the game-winners in the bottom of the sixth inning.
R.J. Sholar took the loss on the mound, giving up two earned runs in six innings of work. He fanned seven and walked two. Sholar also had an RBI double at the plate.
Alex Sadler, Hunter Smilie, and Andre Wright also had singles for the Wildcats.
Brentwood Academy scored three runs in each of the second and third innings and went on to beat the Wildcats 10-0 in the nightcap.
Alex Sadler had three of Trigg's six hits, while Hunter Allen had a single and double, and Hunter Smilie added a single.
Zack Bridges took the loss on the mound for the Wildcats.
The losses came after Trigg County lost a pair of games in the Oldham County Spring Break Tournament, losing to Western Hills 10-4 and dropping a 7-4 contest to Butler.
