Bird Averitt featured in LA Times article

William "Bird" Averitt, who led the nation in scoring as a junior at Pepperdine University, was featured in a Los Angeles Times article today.

Averitt, who starred at Hopkinsville High before moving to the west coast to play at Pepperdine, played in the ABA and NBA before returning home to Hopkinsville 25 years ago.

In addition to providing daily sports news on this blog, he broadcasts high school football, basketball, and baseball games on WKDZ and WHVO.
