The annual Meet of Champions was held at Masterston Station Park in Lexington Saturday, featuring one of the largest fields of the year in addition to the middle school state championship.
In the Elementary School race, Ethan Dossett finished 17th out of 432 runners with a time of 12:03 over the 2.4-mile course. Reagan Hyde finished 156th in a time of 13:51, while Sebastian Skinner was 273rd (14:55).
In the boys' middle school race, Debo Mayes finished 175th, covering the 2.7-mile course in 17:01. Brian Dossett took 214th in a time of 17:24, followed by J.B. Hendricks in 251st (17:50). There were 431 runners in the race.
In the girls elementary school race, Anna Morgan paced Trigg County with a finish of 187th in a time of 15:27. Kayla Bingham finished 212th in a time of 15:39, followed by Jordan Woodall in 251st (16:05), and Emily Andreina in 415th (21:17).
In the girls middle school race, Alex Olin led Trigg County with a 152nd place finish in 19:09, while Jessica Brashears was 319th in 23:02 and Hannah Barnett was 344th in 24:23. There were 364 runners in the race.
In the Class 2A girls varsity race, Lynease Byers finished ninth out of 93 runners with a time of 22:05 over the 3.1-mile course. Romaine Cunningham took 12th place out of 157 runners in the boys varsity race with a time of 18:10. Matt Savage was 83rd in 20:56, Garrett Brown was 89th (21:08), Jakelzie Martin was 96th (21:25), Jake Mitchell was 146th (25:23). As a team, Trigg County finished 14th out of 17 teams.
Christian County also competed in the event.
Eric Powell took 89th in the boys elementary school race in a time of 13:06, while Alex Lancaster was 91st (13:08), Logan Scott 109th (13:21), Jonathon Beymer 116th (13:30), Justin Newby 185th (15:01), and Ty Meacham 424th (19:24). As a team, Christian County finished 17th out of 52 teams.
Powell turned around and ran in the middle school race, finishing in 40th place in 15:29. Matt Johnson was 144th (16:48), Brandon Scott 204th (17:19), and Brandon Clark 347th (19:29).
In the girls' elementary school race, Rachael Snyder finished 38th in a time of 13:36. Brookelyn Meacham was 155th in a time of 15:00, while Kaylea Johnson was 160th (15:03), Kara Orten was 245th (16:02), Chayla McCullough was 288th (16:43), and Karalyn Beymer was 308th (16:58). As a team, Christian County finished 23rd out of 49 teams.
In the middle school race, Natalie Homa was 220th in a time of 20:23, while Lindsay Thomas was 283rd (21:54), and Kayln Phipps was 287th (22:02).
The Region I meets will be held next Saturday. Trigg County and Hopkinsville will compete in the Class 2A meet at Logan County, while Christian County will run in the Class 3A meet at Marshall County.
