Hopkinsville's soccer season came to a sloshy end with a 5-0 loss to Marshall County in the first round of the Girls State Soccer Tournament Tuesday at the Stadium of Champions.
Margaret Thomas scored four goals for Marshall County (17-2-3), who won at the sub-sectional level for the 12th straight year.
For Hopkinsville, their season ends with a record of 19-4, which is a school record for wins in a season.
The game was played in the rain for the entire contest, which made footing non-existent.
Marshall County moves on to play Daviess County Thursday in the quarterfinals.
