The district season gets underway for both Trigg County and Murray Friday night when the two rivals square off at Perdue Field. Kickoff is 7:30pm.
The game has been billed as a "Black Out" by the Trigg student body, who ask that all Wildcat fans wear black to the game tonight.
Murray is 5-0 and ranked seventh in this week's Bluegrasspreps.com Class 2A Poll.
Trigg County had last week off after beating Hopkins County Central 6-0 two weeks ago. The Wildcats are 1-3.
According to this story in the Murray Ledger and Times, the Tigers have had tonight's game circled on their calendars for a while.
Tonight is the 54th meeting between the two schools in a series that dates back 70 years. Murray leads the all-time series 34-18-1, but Trigg County has won three games in a row since Murray was realigned to Class 2A in 2007.
Murray is 17-9 in games played in Cadiz, while Trigg County is 8-10 against Murray at the "new" Perdue Field.
