Tyler Mitchell tied for 19th at Kentucky State Am

Tyler Mitchell of Cadiz is tied for 19th after the first round of the Kentucky State Amateur Golf Tournament in Nicholasville.

Mitchell shot a 73, which is six shots behind the leaders, Jim Volpenheim of Union and Jordan Blann of Bowling Green.

Hopkinsville's Logan Loftus shot an 85 and was tied for 143rd place.

The final round continues Tuesday at Champion Trace Golf Club.
