Trigg County used two large first half streaks to deal Dawson Springs an 87-70 setback at Wildcat Gym Tuesday night.
The Wildcats jumped out to a 23-5 lead before Dawson Springs answered with a 15-2 run to pull to 25-17 after one quarter. Trigg County then began to heat up from the outside and used a 28-6 run to take control of the game. The Wildcats hit 7-of-16 three-pointers in the first half and outscored the Panthers 30-13 in the second quarter.
Trigg led 77-40 after three quarters before inserting subs in the fourth quarter. With their starters in, Dawson cut the lead to 81-62 with just over three minutes left but couldn't make a larger dent in the Trigg lead.
Jonathon King led four Wildcats in double figures with 31 points. Zeke Wright scored 14 points, Dustin White had 13, and Bradley Davis scored 12.
Ethan Scott led Dawson Springs (6-12) with 34 points.
Trigg County (14-10) has now won 14 straight games over Dawson Springs dating back to 2000.
The Wildcats will host Fort Campbell Thursday night.
