Logan County outscored Trigg County 67-44 over the final three quarters to score their first-ever win over Trigg County 81-63 Saturday in Russellville. The win was just the fourth in 21 games for Logan County this year.
The 81 points scored by the Cougars was 13 more than their previous high this year.
Chris Covington scored 30 points for Logan County, and Seth McReynolds added 22 points as Logan County snapped a four-game losing streak.
Jonathon King hit four 3-pointers and finished with 21 points for Trigg County. Zeke Wright scored 16 points, and Bradley Davis hit for 13 points and the Wildcats drained 10 three-pointers in the game but hit just 3-of-9 free throws.
Logan County outscored Trigg County 22-9 in the second quarter and 24-17 in the fourth quarter.
Trigg County dropped to 13-10 with their third straight loss and is hoping to avoid a late-season collapse for the second straight year. Last year, Trigg dropped 10 of their last 11 games and was bounced in the first round of the district tournament.
The Wildcats will host Dawson Springs Tuesday at Wildcat Gym.
