Caldwell County's first trip to the All-A Classic State Tournament was a short one as Sheldon Clark used a 19-2 second quarter run to bury the Lady Tigers 55-41 Wednesday in Richmond.
As a whole, the trip was one the players, coaches, and fans would like to forget for things off the court as much as on the court.
The team hotel, as did most of Richmond, was without power. McBrayer Arena was not affected.
On the court, Caldwell (13-4) struggled from the field, shootin 32-percent (32%), while Sheldon Clark hit 14-of-25 shots for 56-percent.
Savannah Pepper was the lone Lady Tiger in double figures with 17 points. Jayme Jackson, Caldwell's leading scorer, was held to six points.
Sheldon Clark (11-6) got 18 points and eight rebounds from Carla Booth.
