Trigg County used an explosive first half offense and a strong defensive effort throughout the game to hammer Caldwell County 93-64 tonight in Princeton.
Five players scored in double figures for Trigg County, led by Jonathon King's 33 points and 10 rebounds. Dustin White scored a season-high 17 points, Zeke Wright added 13 points and 11 rebounds, and Shelton Burress and Bradley Davis each scored 11 points.
The Wildcats hit 29-of-39 free throws (74%), including 13-of-14 in the second quarter.
Brandon Sigler led Caldwell County (0-3) with 12 points, and Marcus Wimbleduff had 11. Tron Gray, Caldwell County's leading scorer, was held to six points of 2-of-11 shooting from the field.
The Wildcats used a 13-0 first half run that evolved into a 21-2 run to take a 33-11 lead, and they cruised from there. Trigg led 52-27 at halftime and led by as many as 35 points in the second half.
Trigg County (4-0) will host Crittenden County Friday night.
