Trigg County plays host to the Kentucky Machine and Engineering Christmas Classic that begins today at Wildcat Gym.
There will be 28 games played over three days (Saturday, Monday, and Tuesday) in two gyms.
The girls will play a double-elimination tournament, while the boys will play pool play.
The girls' field features two former champions of the tournament Trigg County hosted from 2001-07 known as the 12 Games of Christmas. Carlisle County (2001) and Fulton County (2005) appear in this year's field as former champs.
Logan County (2-3) plays Fulton County (1-4) at 3pm today in the middle school gym.
Hancock County (5-0) plays Union City (7-3) at 1pm today in Wildcat Gym in what appears to be the best game of the first round.
Reidland (1-3) and Dawson Springs (0-6) open the tournament today at 9am in Wildcat Gym.
Trigg County (1-4) will play Carlisle County (2-2) tonight at 5pm in Wildcat Gym.
In the boys' tournament, the eight teams are split into two pools.
Pool A begins at 1pm today with Ballard Memorial (3-2) playing Butler County (0-5) in the middle school gym.
At 7pm, Trigg County (5-1) will play Ballard Memorial in Wildcat Gym, while Butler County plays Fulton County (2-3) in the middle school gym at 7pm.
In Pool B, Dawson Springs (2-4) plays Larue County (5-0) in the 11am game at Wildcat Gym.
At 3pm, McLean County (2-3) plays Dawson Springs in Wildcat Gym, and at 5pm in the middle school gym, Larue County plays Logan County (0-5).
