Trigg County held off Todd County Central 5-3 tonight at the Complex, to draw within two games of .500.
Kelci Winn and Taylor Davis each had two goals, and Abigail Torian added another as the Lady Wildcats built a 3-0 lead only to see Todd County tie the game with three quick goals in the first eight minutes of the second half.
"We still can't seem to put a complete game together, but at least this time we came out on the winning side of things," said Lady Wildcat head coach Mike Smith. "Todd never really threatened us, they just took advantage of our chances."
Trigg County outshot Todd County 25-5 in the contest. The Lady Wildcats are now 4-6 and will host Crittenden County Thursday.
In other action tonight, University Heights Academy beat Crittenden County 10-0 at UHA. Sara Allen scored four goals, and Eden Mack added two. Shelby Martin, Rachel Camp and Katherine Settle each added one goal as the Lady Blazers scored five goals in each half.
Freshman Garnett Bruce earned her first shutout in the goal of a varsity game.
UHA also won the JV game 2-0 on goals from Shayna Hudson and Katherine Settle. Sixth grader Carson Bryant recorded the shutout in the goal.
UHA returns to action Thursday against Todd County at Givens Field.
