Trigg County held a commanding advantage in shots but still fell to Muhlenberg South 1-0 tonight at the Complex.
Trigg outshot the Lady Suns (Sunnettes?) 27-4 but a Muhlenberg South goal 13 minutes into the game was the lone score of the contest.
Muhlenberg South improved to 6-1 with the win, while Trigg County fell to 3-6 on the season.
"After falling behind, we turned it up and looked great and dominated in every part of the game except the scoreboard," Lady Wildcat head coach Mike Smith said.
Trigg County returns to action Tuesday at home against Todd County Central.
In other games tonight:
- University Heights got back on the winning track with an 8-2 thumping of Hopkins County Central at Morton's Gap. Sara Allen scored four goals, and Elizabeth Settle, Shelby Martin, Shayna Hudson, and Alli Ross each scored as UHA had 24 shots in the contest. UHA is now 4-3 on the season and will play at St. Mary Monday. UHA won the JV game 3-0 behind a pair of goals from Shelby Martin.
