Despite a roster filled with athletes and game-breakers, the Western Kentucky Conference All Stars couldn't get much going on offense and fell to the Southern Illinois All Stars 21-7 Friday night at Roy Stewart Stadium at Murray State University.
The win is Southern Illinois' third in the four career meetings in the series.
The WKC didn't manage much offense, gaining just 180 yards on 39 offensive plays -- 74 of that came on a touchdown run by DaeRon Williams in the third quarter.
Southern Illinois led 13-0 at halftime before Williams cut the lead to 13-7 in the third quarter.
The WKC All-Stars, coached by Lone Oak's Jack Haskins, thought they had the game tied in the third quarter, but a 79-yard screen pass for a score by Williams was called back on a penalty at midfield.
So. Illinois also had a touchdown called back in the fourth quarter. So. Illinois also missed two field goals.
Fort Campbell's C.J. Croft was 6-of-13 for 48 yards, while Hopkinsville's Kyle Graham was 3-of-3 for 13 yards.
Southern Illinois quarterback Matt Brown, who is headed to Illinois State, was 9-of-15 for 84 yards and a touchdown.
