Donald Bush had a first inning to remember and accomplished more than some people do in an entire season.
The junior shortstop hit two home runs as part of an 11-run first inning as the Wildcats stomped St. Mary 14-1 Saturday afternoon at the Complex. Bush hit a two-run homer in his first at bat and slammed a 3-run homer in his second at bat of the inning.
Trigg had nine hits in the first inning and 16 for the game.
Shane Banks had three hits, while R.J. Sholar, Will Stagner, Mitch Rogers, and Jamey Guinn each had two hits. Banks had three RBIs in the first inning on two hits.
Tyler Greenman picked up the pitching win, allowing just one earned run in four innings of work. He walked just one and struck out seven.
Trigg County improved to 4-5 on the season, while St. Mary fell to 3-11 with the loss. The Wildcats return to action Monday at home against Crittenden County in their district opener.
