Trigg County scored 11 runs in the third and fourth innings combined and breezed to a 13-4 win over Union County Saturday at the Complex. The game was postponed from Friday because of bad weather.
Union County scored four runs in the top of the first inning on a two-run single by Jarred Burke and a two-run homer by Randall Miller.
Trigg answered with a single run in the second inning and five in the third. The big blast was a 3-run homer crushed by Wildcat first baseman Jamey Guinn onto the hill in right field. Josh Green and Hunter Smilie each had RBI singles in the inning.
Trigg put the game away in the fourth inning when Shane Banks and Tyler Greenman each had RBI singles, and Smilie scored two runs with a single.
Green and Smilie each had three hits and three RBIs as part of the 15-hit Wildcat attack. Donald Bush, Shane Banks, and R.J. Sholar each had two hits.
Shane Banks picked up the win on the mound, allowing six hits in five innings. He walked five and struck out two.
