Trigg County's season came to an end Thursday night with a 75-56 loss to Lyon County in the semifinals of the Fifth District Tournament in Eddyville.
Lyon County shot 56-percent from the field in the second half and outscored Trigg 29-16 in the fourth quarter to pull away for the win.
The Wildcats were a miserable 6-of-30 from 3-point range, including 2-of-13 in the first half. For the game, Trigg County was 19-of-55 from the field (34%).
Jonathon King led Trigg in scoring with 21 points and five rebounds, while Shelton Burress added 17 points. The two combined to shoot 13-of-37 from the field and 4-of-23 from 3-point range.
Jalik Alexander added eight points and seven rebounds.
Lyon County had four players in double figures, led by 23 points from Taylor Gray and 20 more from Mitchell Peeler, who also had seven rebounds.
The loss ends Trigg County's run of five straight district championship appearances and their streak of three straight district titles. The Wildcats finish the season at 10-17 and lost 10 of their last 11 games.
Lyon County improves to 12-13 and will play Livingston Central in the championship game Saturday night.
In the opener, Livingston Central held off Crittenden County 63-57 to advance to their first district title game since 1995.
Dylan Saint led the Cardinals (9-15) with 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Wes Lasher added nine points and 11 rebounds.
Crittenden County sees their season end with a record of 3-19. Nine of their last 11 games were decided by 10 points or less and they were 2-7 in those games.
Gaige Courtney had 28 points and eight rebounds for the Rockets.
