Trigg County scored 14 points in the first quarter and scored 13 in the second and third quarters, which allowed Caldwell County to pull away for a 56-41 win tonight in Princeton.
Caldwell outscored Trigg 16-7 in the second quarter and 13-6 in the third quarter to build a 44-27 lead heading into the fourth quarter. The Lady Tigers used a 13-0 third quarter run to essentially put the game away.
Trigg County was hurt by early foul trouble which led to a ridiculous free throw advantage for Caldwell County. The Lady Tigers shot 20-of-40 from the free throw line, while Trigg hit just 8-of-16.
The Lady Wildcats were also hurt by 29 turnovers on the night.
Trinity Wortham led Trigg County with nine points, and Elysia Brown added seven points. Janada Acree, Dori Sheehan, and Brooke Kearney each scored six points.
Caldwell County got 18 points each from Emily Meeks and Savannah Pepper and 16 more from Jayme Jackson.
Caldwell County improved to 9-13 on the season while Trigg County fell to 5-17. The Lady Wildcats will plat at Fulton City Saturday afternoon.
