The 2007 Trigg County Wildcat Football team was recognized at their annual banquet Sunday afternoon.
The Wildcats were 9-4 this past season and won the district championship for the second straight year.
In a departure from past banquets, the number of individual awards was dramatically less, with head coach Shannon Burcham saying that the philosophy is to promote team accomplishments more than individual achievements.
Each football player did receive something in the form of a football jacket, T-shirt, or backpack based on achievements in finishing the season, academic work, and community service.
Several players also received WKDZ Player of the Game awards as voted on by the broadcast crew after each game.
There were three Coaches' Awards given based on a wide array of criteria. Winning the coaches awards were Scotty Mayes, Donald Bush, and Aaron Acree.
Three-year manager Kim Hanberry was also recognized for her work with the team.
Players getting Senior Awards were Aaron Acree, Xavier Brison, Tony Bryant, Kevin Goodwin, Montrell Humphries, Ben Koenig, Scotty Mayes, Drew Pool, Devin Stewart, Frankie Tarpley, John Young, and Matt Wallace.
