After a couple of solid outings, Trigg County came crashing back to Earth with a 65-35 loss to host Marion in their holiday tournament Thursday night.
Marion (6-6) led 21-12 after one quarter and 45-23 at halftime before holding Trigg to just 12 second half points.
Jonathon King was the lone Wildcat in double figures with 11 points, while Shelton Burress added five.
Bradley Davis and Dustin White each scored four points, and Javin Grubbs added three points for the Wildcats, who fell to 6-4 on the season.
According to Rick Chedister, who is in Marion covering the 'Cats for WKDZ, Trigg County shot just 28-percent from the field and 4-of-17 from 3-point range.
Trigg has lost three of their four career meetings with Marion in the tournament.
The Wildcats will play St. Mary (3-7) tonight at 5:30pm. St. Mary beat Union County 68-65.
In the other game, Lake County, Tennessee beat Herrin, Illinois 88-72.
