Both of these teams came into the Marion Holiday Tournament averaging over 70 points a game. One team reached it and one did not.
Lake County hit 13 three-pointers in the first three quarters and buried the Wildcats 75-50 Saturday afternoon. Trigg shot just 32-percent from the field as they have failed to recapture their offensive outburst that they displayed in their tourney-opening win. Of course, they aren't playing Union County either.
Lake County led 24-14 after one quarter and 44-27 at halftime. A 20-6 third quarter run by the Falcons pretty much buried the Wildcats, who fell to 2-2 in the tournament with the loss.
For the first time this season, no Wildcat reached double figures in scoring. Shelton Burress led Trigg with eight points, while Jalik Alexander, Zeke Wright and Jonathon King each scored six points. Dustin White and Russell Lancaster each chipped in with five points.
