Eldridge Rogers has been elected to the Kentucky High School Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
Rogers will be formally recognized at a ceremoney January 19 in Louisville as part of the state baseball coaches clinic.
Rogers coached Christian County for three seasons, amassing a 46-11 record during that time. However, he is more widely known for his contributions as an umpire, which included 26 years at the high school level where he officiated 26 straight district and region tournaments and umpired in 12 state tournaments.
Rogers also started the Pennyrile Umpires Association where he trained, assigned, and supervised baseball umpires until 2006. He also was the supervisor for the state baseball and softball tournaments, and still conducts training clinics on mechanics.
The induction into the KHSBCA Hall of Fame is the just the latest honor for Rogers, who is already a member of the Dawahares KHSAA Hall of Fame, Christian County High School Athletic Hall of Fame, and the Kentucky Academic Association Hall of Fame.
Rogers currently coaches the Heritage Christian Academy volleyball team.
