Trigg County notched only their second-ever win over Fort Campbell on the volleyball court and first in six years as the Lady Wildcats came away with a 25-22, 25-9 win Thursday on post.
Kalesha Williams had 11 aces, 3 kills and 1 block, while Casey Banister had 10 assists one ace.
Molly Thompson had 3 kills and one block; Keisha Stewart had 3 kills and one block; Kelly Bradshaw had 1 kill and 1 ace; and Kassy Davis had 3 aces.
Williams served the last 12 points of the second game and had 18 service points on the night as the Lady Wildcats defeated the defending region runner-up.
"Tonight the girls pulled together and played as a team. There was a LOT of enthusiasm, and they had fun," said Lady Wildcat head coach Rick Erickson. "If they play every game like this, we can have a very successful season. Everyone enjoyed themselves, whether they were on the floor playing, on the bench cheering or in the stands. This is what we have been looking for out of this team."
Trigg County is now 3-2 overall and will play at Marshall County Tuesday in a freshman/JV/varsity tripleheader.
Trigg County lost the JV game 10-21, 18-21.
Samantha Harper had 4 assists. Faythe Rea had 3 blocks and 1 kill. Kassy Davis had 1 kill and 1 ace. Stephanie Graves had 1 kill and 1 block. Valarie Ellis Barnes had 3 aces, and Morgan Parker had 1 kill.
