First, let's make a correction to Sunday's story.
Trigg County's Amber Abate won the middle school division of the National Archery in Schools competition with a score of 287 out of 208 archers, which was six points better than second place Kendra Harper of Elliott County.
Overall, she finished second only to Madison Central's Morgan Floyd, who shot a 288. Abate also took home $1,500 in scholarship money for her efforts.
Congratulations to Amber, who will be a freshman this fall and will move up to the high school division.
