When Second Region teams visit the First Region, they rarely enjoy an advantage at the free throw.
The same apparently doesn't hold true when First Region teams visit Wildcat Gym.
For the second time this year, Murray enjoyed a healthy advantage at the free throw line in beating the Lady Wildcats 54-46 Tuesday night in Cadiz.
The visiting Lady Tigers were 19-of-34 from the charity stripe, while Trigg was just 4-for-8.
In their Dec. 20 win over Trigg County at Wildcat Gym in the 12 Games of Christmas, Murray again visited the free throw line frequently -- shooting 46 free throws to Trigg's 21.
Back to Tuesday's game. Trigg County struggled from the field early and fell behind 12-5 after one quarter and 27-14 at halftime. Trigg trailed 42-27 heading into the fourth quarter, but cut the Murray lead to 50-44 with two minutes to go but could get no closer.
Janada Acree led Trigg County with 15 points and 14 rebounds before fouling out. Laquisha Boyd and 8th grader Elysia Brown each scored nine points, and Brooke Allen added five points.
Murray (7-14) was led by Stacey McClure's 19 points. Leah Diehleman added 13 points.
Trigg County won the JV game 29-18.
Trigg County falls to 4-17 and returns to action Saturday at home against Todd County.
