Tyler Mitchell won his first match on the Southeastern Junior Golf Tour, winning the 16-18-year-old division of the Craft Farms Junior Classic last weekend at Gulf Shores, Alabama.
Mitchell shot a pair of 4-over-par 76s to finish at +8 and win by two shots over Myers Marshall of Daphne, Alabama and Jack Wall of Carrollton, Georgia.
Mitchell, a junior at TCHS, earned 1,000 tour points for the win and leads the standings for the 16-18 age group.
The Southeastern Junior Golf Tour allows junior golfers a chance to play competitive golf while building their resume for a potential collegiate golf career.The SJGT was founded in 1994 with six tournaments and 60 members.
Now, SJGT has expanded the schedule to 39 events and boasts over 1200 members. The SJGT not only has attracted a large number of junior golfers over the years but has also proven to be an attractive audience for corporate sponsors.
