Trigg County finished sixth in the McLean County RC Cola Classic after falling to Whitesville Trinity 62-48 Friday night in Calhoun.
Trigg led 13-12 after one quarter thanks to the inside play of sophomore center Janada Acree, who scored 11 of Trigg's 13 points in the first frame. However, Acree picked up two quick fouls at the end of the quarter, and Trinity took advantage by outscoring Trigg 21-7 in the quarter to take a 33-20 halftime lead.
Whitesville Trinity (6-3) led 49-30 after three quarters and extended their lead to as many as 30 in the fourth quarter before the Lady Wildcats made a late run to make the final score respectable.
Acree finished with 21 points to lead Trigg, while Laquisha Boyd added 18 points. Brooke Allen, Kalesha Williams, Kelci Winn, and Dori Sheehan each scored two points, and Keisha Stewart scored one point.
Ashley Aud led the Lady Raiders with 14 points, and Kelly Metcalfe added 13 points.
Trigg continued their strong shooting at the charity stripe, hitting 14-of-20. Boyd was 8-of-9 for the night and was 16-of-20 in her last two games.
Trigg County is now 3-9 on the season and will host University Heights Tuesday night at Wildcat Gym at 7:30pm.
