Jeff Embrey got his first win as Wildcat head coach, although it took a half for Trigg to get on track as the Wildcats beat Dawson Springs 84-65 at Wildcat Gym.
Down 35-28 at halftime, the Wildcats opened the second half on an 8-0 run and outscored Dawson 30-12 in the third quarter to take control of the game.
Rodney Davis scored 20 of his game-high 36 points in the third quarter, while Jonathon King hit four 3-pointers in the first half and added 23 points and nine rebounds.
Trigg County has won seven straight season openers and 11 straight games against the Panthers dating back to 2000.
