The Associated Press All-State football team was announced over the weekend, with some local players recognized by the media members who cast a vote. (Neither WKDZ nor the Cadiz Record are AP members and therefore, do not vote.)
First team selections from the area included Owensboro offensive lineman Paul Millay and Henderson County defensive back Antionne Lightfoot.
Second team selections included Hopkinsville running back Emanuel Taylor, Caldwell County receiver Cameron Williams, and Graves County offensive lineman Cody Widelski.
Third team selections included Christian County quarterback Keith Tandy, Caldwell County running back Rodney Bell, Christian County offensive lineman James Shepherd, Paducah Tilghman linebacker David Jones, Marshall County defensive back Brandon Walker, and Owensboro Catholic punter Stewart Ijames.
Players named honorable mention included Marshall County running back Alan Williams, Owensboro Catholic receivers Neil Holland and Nick Norcia.
No players from Trigg County were selected to the team.
