Despite playing their third game in as many days, the Wildcats found something extra in the gas tank to beat Community Christian of Paducah 3-2 Tuesday at the Complex.
"Some guys didn't have their legs, and we didn't play very well. But I was pleased that they gutted it out and got the win," head coach Josh Nichols said.
After falling behind 1-0, Zach Thompson scored off a pass from Roman Cail to tie the game at 1-1.
Thompson scored his second goal of the game off an assist from Samuel Reed to give the Wildcats a 2-1 lead heading into intermission.
A.J. Bridges finished the scoring on an unassisted goal to finish the Wildcat scoring, and Josh Green had another good game in goal to get the win.
The Wildcats improved to 3-8-2 on the season, while Community Christian fell to 3-2 with the loss.
If there was another sign that Trigg County appears to be improving, Nichols pointed out that Trigg lost to Reidland 6-0 earlier in the season while Community Christian only lost to the Greyhounds 4-3 on Sept. 5.
Trigg County will host Hopkins County Central tonight at 7pm at the Complex. Both teams are trying to figure out a way to beat the other, with their previous three games ending in a tie. Trigg still leads the all-time series with the Storm 8-1-3.
