Lake Barkley State Resort Park will be hosting the Midwest Collegiate Cycling Conference and Regional Championships Saturday and Sunday.
Murray State University is the host school for the event, which will be held on the 10 miles of mountain biking trails that cover varied and technical terrain, a dual-slalom course, and a downhill course.
Kentucky schools expected to send teams include Murray State, Union College and Lindsey Wilson College. Other schools expected to compete include Illinois, Michigan, Michigan State, Missouri, Purdue, Cincinnati, Western Michigan, Michigan Tech and Butler.
The cross-country race and downhill trial runs will be Saturday, while the short-track cross country, dual-slalom heats, and timed downhill races will be Sunday. The races are free and open to the public.
The top three teams and individuals will advance to Division I and II collegiate nationals in Angelfire, New Mexico on Oct. 19-20.
