Former Titan Steve McNair shot and killed

Former Tennessee Titan Steve McNair has been shot and killed at a Nashville apartment complex, according to WTVF- Channel 5 in Nashville.

The shooting happened in Nashville at Second South and Lea Avenue, the station reported on theor website.

Nashville Metro Police spokesman Don Aaron has confirmed a female was also found shot to death in the apartment, but did not identify her.  He said the deaths were reported at 1:35pm but did not say when the actual shootings occurred or whether there was a suspect still at large or in custody.

Titans players, cheerleaders visit Fort Campbell

The top four draft picks from the 2009 Tennessee Titans rookie class and Titans cheerleaders were at Fort Campbell last week to visit the Army's 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment.

It marked the third straight year the Titans were on post as part of their Safety Day.

Kenny Britt, Jared Cook, Sen'Derrick Marks, and Ryan Mouton visited the 160th, as did Titans cheerleader Brooke Bailey, a Cadiz native who is on the cheerleading squad.

Mike Keith discusses Titans draft strategy

During the Tennessee Titans caravan stop at WKDZ on Monday, I had a chance to talk draft day strategy with play-by-play man Mike Keith.

The Titans have the 30th pick in the first round of Saturday's NFL Draft and three picks in the first 94.

Keith thinks the Titans will see someone unexpectedly slip to them at #30 and expects them to use that pick to take the best player available as opposed to filling a specific need.

Tennessee Titans Caravan to be at WKDZ Monday

The Tennessee Titans Caravan will make a stop at the WKDZ studios Monday as part of their annual tour of the tri-state area.

The caravan stop is scheduled for 11am at WKDZ and is expected to include a visit by Titans tight end Alge Crumpler and T-Rac, who will be available for pictures and autographs.

The first fans to arrive will receive a free WKDZ/Titans T-shirt.

Tennessee Titans release 2009 schedule

The Tennessee Titans have released their 2009 football schedule, which is highlighted by four primetime appearances.

Tennessee opens the season Thursday night Sept. 10 at Pittsburgh.  They also have primetime games Sunday, Oct. 11 at home with Indianapolis, Monday Nov. 23 at Houston, and Christmas Night at home with San Diego.

Eddie George's wife to appear on Survivor

The wife of former Tennessee Titans running back Eddie George will be a contestant on the new season of Survivor, that will premiere on CBS Feb. 12.

Tamara "Taj" Johnson-George, the 37-year-old wife of Eddie George, will be one of 16 contestants on the TV show, which was shot on location in Brazil.

Johnson-George is a former member of the Grammy nominated R & B trio SWV (Sisters With Voices) that had some chart success in the early 1990s. 

It will be the second TV show for Johnson-George, who also starred with Eddie in the TV One reality show I Married a Baller that aired in 2007.

Johnson-George won't be the only recognizable face on the upcoming season of Survivor.  Candace Smith (right), a former Miss Ohio USA and Barker's Beauty on The Price Is Right, is also among the 16 hopefuls who must outwit, outlast, and outplay on the show for a chance to win a million bucks.

Sandy Burgin, a 53-year-old bus driver from Louisville, is also a contestant on the show.

Titans vs. Raiders tonight on WKDZ

The Tennessee Titans will host the Oakland Raiders tonight at LP Field in Nashville in preseason NFL action.

You can hear the game on WKDZ-FM beginning with the pregame show at 6pm.  Kickoff will be at 7pm.

Bid on Titans skybox tickets today

WKDZ will be auctioning off Tennessee Titans skybox tickets today on the Live Afternoon Drive with Bill Booth.  The tickets are for Tennessee's Friday exhibition game with Oakland at LP Field.

Bids on the tickets will be taken between 3-4:50pm by calling 522-1212.

Proceeds from the auction will to towards next year's Cadiz Rotary Radio Auction.  Be sure to listen and bid on the tickets for a fantastic view of the Titans.

Tennessee Titans' single game tickets go on sale Saturday

Single game ticket sales for the Tennessee Titans go on sale Saturday morning at 10am.
