Wynn Harris on the move again

Former Trigg County girls' basketball coach Wynn Harris is on the move again, moving from the head girls' coaching job at Garrard County to becoming an asisstant with the boys' team.

According to the story in the Danville Advocate Messenger, Harris was approached by Lee DeForrest, the boys' coach at Garrard, about becoming an assistant coach with his program.

"I've coached girls for 18 years, but this is first time a boys position has been offered to me, and it was something as a coach I'd always considered," Harris told the Advocate Messenger. "And there's some family concerns. My wife didn't have to find a new job. I didn't have to move my kids.  It was also a new challenge for me. That was part of it. It seemed like a very good opportunity with a very good team."

Harris was 20-34 in two seasons at Garrard County, inheriting a junior-laden team that failed to win a postseason game in the 45th District.

He was 37-66 in four seasons as head coach at Trigg County from 2000-04.
