Henderson County used a strong performance on the boards to hold off Christian County 63-56 in the Second Region Tournament in a game that wasn't as close as the score indicated.
Henderson outrebounded Christian 41-27 and scored 16 second-chance points off 17 offensive rebounds. Kaleb Duckworth had 10 points and 13 rebounds, while D. J Washington added 15 points for Henderson (24-5).
Christian County got 19 points from Quan Poindexter and 10 more from C.J. Cotton. Christian County's season ends at 15-15.
Henderson County led 53-34 after three quarters but did not make a field goal in the fourth quarter. Christian scored 11 points off eight Henderson turnovers in the final period to make the final score closer.
