Trigg County edged Lyon County 3-2 -- their third one-goal win over the Lyons this year. Caldwell County had no such problems in downing Dawson Springs 9-0.
The Wildcats (10-10-1) and Tigers (14-6) met twice during the season, with Caldwell winning 5-2 and 5-4.
The title game will be Thursday at 5:30pm at Butler Stadium in Princeton. Trigg County will be shooting for their second straight district title -- something that has never happened in program history.
Meanwhile, the Fourth District Girls Tournament begins tonight at 5:30pm with Trigg County playing Lyon County. In the 7pm nightcap, Caldwell County will face Crittenden County, who beat Dawson Springs 2-1 in penalty kicks Monday night.
In the Third District, Fort Campbell beat Todd County Central 3-1 to advance to the semifinals where they will play Hopkinsville tonight at 7pm. Hoptown won the regular season meeting 8-1.
In the the other semifinal, Christian County plays University Heights Wednesday. All games are at Todd County Central.
For the guys, Todd County Central edged Christian County 2-1 Monday. They will play Hopkinsville tonight at 5:30pm. Hopkinsville won the regular season matchup 12-2.
The other semifinal Wednesday has Fort Campbell playing University Heights.
