Henderson County suffered their first opening round exit in the Second Region Tournament since 1989 as Lyon County pulled the 63-61 surprise Monday night.
Lyon County will play Christian County Friday. The Lady Colonels were a 56-42 winner over Madisonville.
Aubrey Riggs had a key steal and bucket with just over a minute to go to break a tie and give the Lady Lyons a lead they wouldn't relinquish.
Allison West led Lyon County with 22 points, and Riggs added 14 points.
Henderson County had won 17 straight first round games since losing to Christian County in the first round of the 1989 tourney and had won the last six region titles.
Henderson was led by Ellie Fruit's 20 points.
Lyon County snapped a three-game region tourney losing streak dating back to 2006. Their win over Henderson County was their first in seven career tourney meetings.
The Lady Lyons improve to 17-9, while Henderson County sees their season end at 14-12.
Christian County opened the night with a 56-42 win over Madisonville, their third win of the season over the Lady Maroons.
Christian County is now 11-11 on the season, while Madisonville's season ends at 14-15. Christian County is in the semifinals for the fourth time in five years.
Christian County and Lyon County did not meet in the regular season.
