Local golfers to compete in Kentucky Amateur Golf Tournament

Several local golfers will compete in the 2010 AT&T Kentucky State Amateur Golf Championship that gets underway Tuesday at Gibson Bay Golf Course in Richmond.

Tyler Mitchell, who tied for 12th last year, will compete along with Mitchell Moore and Anthony Dempsey of Hopkinsville; Patrick Hibbs of Madisonville; and Travis Thompson of Benton.

Four rounds will be played Tuesday and Wednesday with those making the cut playing Thursday for the title.

In addition to providing daily sports news on this blog, he broadcasts high school football, basketball, and baseball games on WKDZ and WHVO. He also hosts the Saturday Morning Sports Report on WKDZ -- one of the few local sports programs in the area. His local sports has been the most read in Trigg County for several years.
