Day One Recap from the Second Region Baseball Tournament
- Christian County beat Crittenden County 6-2 in the opening game of the day. Joe Pelletier had two doubles and drove in three runs. Kyle Spencer struck out seven and picked up the win on the mound. Crittenden County's season ends at 18-14.
- Henderson County beat Caldwell County 12-2 in six innings to set up a rematch of last year's region final game. The Colonels took advantage of a shaky Caldwell County defense, as the Tiger committed six errors. Caldwell's season ends at 17-19.
- Kyle Smithson pitched a two-hit shutout to lead Hopkinsville over Trigg County 4-0. Trace Kuberski and Hunter Allen had the only hits for Trigg County. Justin Hageman had a triple for Hopkinsville, who won a region tourney game for the first time in three years. Trigg County's season ends at 16-20. The loss was Trigg's eighth straight in the region tournament dating back to 1989.
- Madisonville beat Union County 16-6 in five innings to advance to the semifinals for the fourth straight year. Union County's season ends at 16-16.
