Trigg County finished in third place at the first-ever District I Middle School Wrestling Tournament Saturday at Wildcat Gym. In the process they qualified seven wrestlers for next week's Region I Tournament.
Taking first place in their weight class were Skylar Pool (131), Jayven Jones (140), and Aaron Stevens (185).
Finishing second were Jeremiah Kline (82), and Daniel Ingram (103).
Ryan Gallogly finished third in the 110-pound class, and Zack Colbert was fourth in the 70-pound class.
Meanwhile, Christian County also had nine wrestlers qualify for the region tournament.
Brandon Wiley (140) and Tevin Tolar (230) finished second, while Marshawn Taylor finished third in the 165-pound class.
Froilan Agulto (89), Jonathan Hall at 96, Camerin Cole at 110, Lance Cooper at 124, Devon Torain at 165, and Xavier Pate at 185 each placed fourth.
In the team competition, Union County won with 218 points, followed by University Heights (132) and Trigg County in third with 127 points. Caldwell County was fourth, Calloway County fifth, and Hopkinsville finished sixth.
Next week's Region I meet will be at Union County.
