Region golf tournaments begin today

Caldwell County sophomore Emma Talley shoots for her fifth straight region golf title today when she takes the course in the Region I Golf Tournament at the Ballard County Country Club.

Calloway County's Katie Tindall and Heath's Christine Cash expect to give Talley her toughest competition in the 18-hole event.

For Trigg County, Sierra Bush, Karli Bush, Alyssa Maxey, and Madison Chaney will compete in the event.

In Region II, the boys tournament will be held at the Madisonville Country Club. Muhlenberg County is the favorite to capture the title.

The top two teams and top four individuals not on those two teams advance to the state tournament in Bowling Green.

Scott Brown handles most of the sports duties for Ham Broadcasting. In addition to providing daily sports news on this blog, he broadcasts high school football, basketball, and baseball games on WKDZ and WHVO. He also hosts the Saturday Morning Sports Report on WKDZ -- one of the few local sports programs in the area. His local sports has been the most read in Trigg County for several years.
