Trigg County scored five times in the fourth inning to beat University Heights 6-3 in softball action Thursday at the Complex. The win snapped a four-game losing streak overall and an eight-game losing streak to University Heights dating back to 2005.
Whitney Cain (right) allowed just three hits over seven innings and struck out nine, including five of the last six UHA hitters she faced.
Sierra Bush, Ashlee McGee, and Hanna Oliver each had two hits for Trigg County, who had 10 total. Bush drove in two as part of the five-run fourth inning.
Shayna Hudson had two of UHA's three hits, while Sara Allen had a two-run single in the first inning.
UHA fell to 6-5 with the loss, while Trigg County improved to 2-4 and have matched their win total from all of last year.
The Lady Wildcats will host Crittenden County Friday at the Complex at 5:30.
