Trigg County opened the 2008 cross country season with a dual meet at Dawson Springs Thursday.
The results were:
3rd Romaine Cunningham 20:05
4th Jay Jolly 20:12
6th Jakelze Martin 21:35
7th Jayven Jones 24:03
8th Matt Savage 25:13
Colton Chappell of Dawson Springs won the race in a time of 18:40.
Dawson Springs won the girls race 26-34. Trigg County's Lynease Byers won the girls race in a time of 23:04.
Other runners were:
3rd Alexin Olin 25:42
6th Macey King 26:09
10th Monica Jones 29:35
14th Brooklyn Meador 30:00
Trigg also won the middle school boys race with Debo Mayes and Ethan Dossett tying for first. Reagan Hyde came in third to help Trigg sweep the first three places. Trigg's fourth and fifth runners were David Morgan and Tyler Estes.
