A big sigh of relief was heard across the Commonwealth at 5:34pm. That's when the CBS Selection Show put Kentucky's name up on the screen.
The Wildcats were one of the last five teams to make the tournament, but they are in. They are a #11 seed -- the second-worst seed ever for a UK team. In 1985, Kentucky was a #12 seed in Joe B. Hall's last year on the Wildcat bench. That team upset #5 Washington (Detleif Schrimpf) in the first round and knocked off UNLV (Freddie Banks) in the second round before losing to St. Johns (Chris Mullin) in the Sweet 16.
Marquette is 24-9 but just 3-3 in their last six games.

(I still refer to Marquette as the Warriors even though they went through the political correctness phase a few years back.)
Kentucky's game is Thursday in Anaheim at 1:30pm Cadiz time.
